Day 4: Favourite Book

Again, how do you choose just one?! At this moment the bookcases in my livingroom contain about 150 books and I’ve read many more…How do I choose? My favourite authors are Poppy Z Brite and Sarah Waters, I’ve read nearly every book either of them have ever published. I wanted to choose 1 book from each of them, but I can’t. So lets just say I can’t do this day.

Day 5: Favourite Quote

This is quite an easy one: Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future. It’s attributed to Oscar Wilde. Who I love but it hasn’t really got anything to do with why I love this quote. I love it because it means that no one is completely bad or completely good.

Day 2: Your Favourite Movie.

I had the same problem with my favourite song. It’s impossible to choose just one. I narrowed it down to 10:

Day 3: Favourite TV Programme:
At the moment I’d say Lotte and Top Gear. They’re the only programmes I watch religiously every day/week at the moment. Doctor Who just finished its first seasson with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, I love them!

Day 1 - Your Favourite Song

It starts with a difficult question. I love music, I’m always listening to music and it’s very difficult to name one song as my favourite. Last.fm tells me it’s Jurk’s Zou Zo Graag, which I have listened to quite a lot but I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite song. My mp3 player tells me it’s Caro Emerald’s On a Night Like This, also not my favourite song, it’s just a song that makes me happy at the moment and fits the weather.

So I just picked some songs that have been in my playlists for a while and will most likely be favourites for some time to come.

Gone With the Sin - HIM

This is the band I fell in love with, songs from Razorblade Romance still cause a strange feeling in my stomach, I’ve thought about a word for it but I failed to think of one in either Dutch or English.

From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea - The Cure

How could I not? This domain is named from this song. It makes me feel sad en relieved and happy at the same time.

Suzanne - Leonard Cohen

I had to include a song by Leonard Cohen and had a difficult time choosing between Suzanne and Halleluja. I choose the first because, well it’s my name and when I was little I thought it was sung for me even though the only think I could understand was “Suzanne”.

Black Eyed - Placebo

Right, I guess this one speaks for itself. I don’t think there’s ever been a song I could identify more with than this one, especially when I was a teenager.

I could go on and on and on but I think I have to leave it at this. I realised most of my favourite songs stem from my teenage years, the songs I listened to then made the biggest impression. I have tons of songs I love now, but none have made me feel like the ones I mentioned in this entry.

I did just read Belle de Jour’s books about her life as a London call girl: The Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl and The Further Adventures of a London Call Girl. I wanted to read them after I got addicted to the TV show with Billie Piper, Secret Diary of a London Call Girl. And I absolutely love them. They’re fantastic to read if you just want to relax, I guess they could fall into the chick-lit category. Belle wrote a blog about her life as a call girl and those blog entries were later made into the books, so there’s no real plot. But I like that, it really feels like you’re getting a peek into someone’s life. Anyway, if you have some spare hours this summer and want some books you don’t really have concentrate on, I recommend these books.

I have a day off tomorrow though, I’m going to the Efteling with three friends from work, we do this every year right before the schools’ summer holidays. I’ll try to make many pictures.

It’s exams week again. I already cocked up the first one, so I’ll have to do a resit for that one. I’m also pretty sure I’ll fail the tefl7 test. Quite positive I’ll pass the remaining tests though.

Sister moved out two weeks ago. It’s brilliant having my flat to myself, finally. I have a whole extra room now which will become my study. How sweet is that? Nice big bookcase and desk. I’ll have my diningroom table back again, it’s now covered with my books and school work.

Give me inspiration people!

So, the new year. I just want to finish my second year. No funerals. Fun with my friends. Maybe fall in love.

The school chose to stuff us in a building without a coffeemachine this period. Which is terrible. I’m not a morning person and without at least three cups of coffee I won’t survive. So I guess I’ll have to buy a termos and bring my own.

I made one resolution: blog more.
